The Universal Extra Mile marketing promotion posters, email tag and stickers were created with Digital Illustrations and Graphic Design. The Universal Extra Mile logo design was inspired by the amazing motor bike the corporation was giving away to a very lucky winner. The digitally illustrated wings and transparent flames referenced motorcycle groups like the Hell's Angels adding in some culture to the visual design. The road sign shape evoked a no limits theme.
The Universal Extra Mile marketing promotion continued with a two by three foot wall calendar and window decal furthering branding with digital illustrations and graphic design. There's a large photo of a motor bike with a headlight in the wall calendar's background that shows through the slightly transparent shapes of each month. Choosing the photos was also an integral part of the design process because in order to have large enough photography for huge printed pieces the resolution must be extremely high quality which usually means stock photography. And choosing the right image from a great stock photography company that is not widely used to house your information and design elements in an interesting way requires time and thought. From the road with the canyon in the background in which to place a cutout motor bike to a shining headlight in this case.
The Universal Extra Mile marketing promotion also had a mailed and or emailed registration for retailers and a postcard entry for customers with digital illustrations and graphic design. Layout and design of the registration with tiny print was always fun and challenging. How many words could one literally fit in a small space with no one even think twice looking at the page? Adding in the little photo cutouts shining in the headlight was a fun way to show pop items with the logo leading the way. And the dash element separating the header and sub header intrinsically brings about the highway road feel.
The Universal Bowl marketing promotion poster and entry box with graphic design involved choosing and pulling together fun stock photography to create a football themed promotion. These photos layered added depth from the crowd to the player and field grass. Old school effects and the football shape promoted the sporty feel.

Universal Bowl marketing promotion postcard and window decal with graphic design. For this promotion, the typeface just fit so well. When no stock photo seemed to do, I took matters into my own hands with a digital camera and a golf ball. The luscious grass was the perfect background.
The Universal Hole-In-One promotion poster and Golf Outing email graphic design let me use creativity and photo shop to create the Universal Hole-In-One with a gold embossed look in perspective on this blank wooden sign. The placement is a little unconventional which plays on the golf aspect from different perspectives. And the white circle behind the text off to the right rather than in the center perpetuating the possible missing of the shot and/or the event.
Universal Seven Seas and Get Hooked promotion posters graphic design. Echo showed the development of choosing typefaces and how certain words visually fit within a phrase. With more photoshop skills, I built "Good Luck Matey" into the sand and added a cutout of a treasure box layering in more sand on top to have it look like it's naturally part of the photograph. Get Hooked involved a large photo of wood planks that I cut out the shape in the center so it would look like the viewer was seeing through the shape to the photo of the canoe enthusiasts. Then I cut out a photo of a fishing pole, created a digital string and added cutouts of a hook and card.
With the Universal Grand Slam and Pitching Solutions promotion posters graphic design, the prizes seemed to slide right in as the bases with a cutout of a baseball on a sepia-toned background photo of a city baseball field lending to a nostalgic feel. And the idea for a simple baseball jersey feel with Pitching Solutions was a home run.
Universal Stock Up and Fill Up and Velocity Take 5 promotion posters graphic design took place in Las Vegas so digitally creating a vector version of the iconic sign paid homage with the logo. A layered cutout of the drivers and gas pump over the great mountainscape and the sky is the limit. Take 5 was simply a great stock photo and layout.
The Universal Backyard BBQ and Grill & Chill promotion posters with graphic design and digital illustration needed fonts that exemplified the style of the theme to help blend the gradient backgrounds with cut out stock photography, To further connect and unify the look of the promotions, I created the transparent grilled smoke shape behind the Backyard BBQ logo and the ketchup bottle for the Grill & Chill promotion.
Universal Marketing Calendar, Logo Design and Promotion Mailer Graphic Design and Digital Illustration. While I did not design the company's original logo, I did, taking the look and feel into consideration, design the Universal Marketing logo with the gradient arrows which was/is used on many materials. With the Wall Calendar (2 feet x 3 feet) I chose photography that emphasized the relevant connection between indoor lighting and the environment (natural outdoor lighting.) The post card mailer focused on line and shape.
The Universal Concept Symposium digital invitation was inspired by film festivals in New York, NY. I chose the brunch photo with the idea of inviting the conversing over concepts theme and emulated the shape of the coffee cup keeping the almost full French press in the background.
With the redesign of the company's Intranet Website, I introduced gradient color, a reversed out logo and a connecting line encompassing the elements to create a light and airy feel. Composing clear categories for employees, adding links, and adding visually descriptive photos encouraged an ease of use.
